When Betfair Poker evolves into Betfair Poker 2 we will introduce Player Points which will be the new base unit for the Players' Club and for all points based poker promotions.
Player Points are earned by all players simply by playing real-money cash games and tournaments.

All players will continue to earn Betfair Points; however the Betfair Points can only be used to reduce your commission  on Sports Betting and will not have any impact on the Players' Club or any poker promotions. You will earn 4 Betfair Points for every network Player Point you earn. Your Betfair Points for will be credited to your Betfair Account on a daily basis and can be viewed under 'My Account' >>> 'Betfair Points Statement'.

Betfair Poker 2 will distribute Player Points by the Essence model which takes into account contributed rake to each pot, style of play and, among other things, distributes more points for playing against tougher opposition, and fewer points to those who systematically play the less experienced.
Player Points will be updated live and can be viewed in the Players' Club.

How are Player Points awarded?

Cash Games - 3.25 Players Points are awarded according to the Essence model for every $1 of rake.
Sit 'n' Go Tournaments - 5 Players Points are awarded for every $1 paid in fee.
Multi Table Tournaments - 5 Players Points are awarded for every $1 paid in fee.

So, for example, if you were to buy into a $25 + $2.50 MTT then you would earn 12.5 Player Points.
